In my opinion David was an odd character. I wonder if he inherited all the family money when Joseph died, he was the eldest son after all. He never worked... though occasionally cleaned people's chimneys. He married quite late in life- 49, his wife was probably partially blind eventually becoming completely blind. She doesn't seem to have been respected by the family. her two sons were Joseph b.1928 and Thomas - haven't tracked his birth yet. Joseph is still alive somewhere in Whitley Bay, Thomas was known as 'Tommy' and died about 20 years ago. Family think he had four children but not sure if he actually married.
