Died of consumption aged approx 38 after visiting London to buy material and getting cuaght in pea souper fog.
He & Catherine Ann were mere children when they
wanted to be married.
Because they were full cousins, the church wouldn't marry them so they
ran away to Gretna Green to be married, but the priest of the parish
went after them and brought them back to Wooler and married them there.
