In about May 1996, I believe there was a re-enactment of the Cross House
Fire of December 1919. As my grandfather and passer-by at the time
(1919), Ralph Thomas BUTCHER, received a certificate and medal for
bravery in rescuing two young ladies from that fire, I would like to
obtain copies of any newspaper articles on the fire and re-enactment.

Would somebody be able to tell me what newspaper would have carried such
a story and the address to where I could write? I already have a
photocopy of some of the press which appeared in the "Illustrated
Chronicle" at the time (1919) of the fire but, on visiting the Tyne and
Wear Library recently, I noticed another newspaper cutting reproduced in
one of the displays there and I am also wanting to get a copy of that
article. This was just another opportunity lost on my recent visit.

Any help given would be most appreciated.
